How to arrive
Directions to Escolásticas from Querétaro, Mexico City and San Juan del Río.
Escolásticas is located in the municipality of Pedro Escobedo, in southeastern Querétaro. The easiest way to reach it is via Federal Highway 57 (Mexico City–Querétaro):
• From Querétaro city (~30–35 min): take Highway 57 southbound. Take the Pedro Escobedo exit and follow signs to the municipal seat; from there, a local road leads to the community of Escolásticas.
• From Mexico City (~2 h 30 min): take Highway 57 northbound (Mexico City–Querétaro). Take the Pedro Escobedo exit before reaching Querétaro city.
• From San Juan del Río (~20 min): take Highway 57 northbound and take the Pedro Escobedo exit.
Tips for visiting:
• Let the workshop know one or two days in advance if you want to see a specific piece or speak with a carver.
• Most workshops are open Monday to Saturday during daytime hours; Sundays are typically closed.
• Bring cash: not every workshop accepts cards or bank transfers.
